These images of the defunct eastern Westbury bypass are from the CD which was distributed free by WCC.

It will be observed how this major new road would have been very intrusive, a completely wrong development within a presently natural tranquil landscape (which the quality of these WCC images does not do justice to).

Only a person with a very narrow viewpoint could say that the views would not have been spoiled.

For walkers along the valley or on the ridge of the escarpment, this bypass would have been very visible.

And the intrusive noise of heavy goods vehicles in once tranquil areas would have spoiled any viewing.
