We need sustainable integrated transport solutions, not a ruinous rural bypass.

A mass assembly against an eastern bypass in 2003 had a 700-plus attendance and was the lead event in that evening's West of England television news.   We walked up to the White Horse, some of us returning by the Wellhead Springs.

There was another large gathering at the West Wiltshire District Council offices, in 2003.   An overwhelming majority of the public who were allowed to address the councillors spoke against an Eastern bypass.    And local employers pleaded for a Western road, which they thought essential for effective transport links.

Many came for the walk along the eastern route in the wet Autumn of 2007.

Our fund-raising for the Inquiry over 2008 has been highly successful.

You can help, by making your opinion known or with a cheque to the 'Westbury Bypass Alliance' to our WBA Treasurer at 35 Bratton Road, Westbury, BA13 3EP.

It is a chance to protest at the White Horse to Wellhead Valley being carved-up and to join in to help to protect the spectacular countryside above Westbury.

An independent inspector has ruled against planning permission.

W(C)C's eastern route will now never be allocated government funding.

Why not have affordable relief for Westbury by an integrated western system?
